From Sept. 19th to 21st, people from across the world will gather in New York City to hold an alternative to the U.N. Climate Summit and join what will be the largest climate march in U.S. history. While there, we’ll have the chance to reflect on and build momentum around what unjust trade contributes to the climate crisis and a larger system that puts profit before people, peace, and the planet.

Will you be there? If so, stop by one of the workshops on trade to say hello and connect with others organizing against the TPP:

Remove the Shackles of Free Trade/Another World Is Possible
Ruth Caplan, Alliance for Democracy
Jerome Scott, U.S. Social Forum
Cassidy Regan, Flush the Trans-Pacific Partnership
10:45 to 12:15 at St. John’s University, 51 Astor Place, Room 108

Rigged Trade and Land Grabs: Stopping the Global Neo-liberal Assault
Kevin Zeese, Popular Resistance
Bernadette Ellorin, BAYAN-USA
Alnoor Ladha, New Economy Coalition and The Rules
Cassidy Regan, Flush the Trans-Pacific Partnership
12:30 to 2 pm at St. John’s University, 51 Astor Place, Room 109

If not, feel free to share the above information with any friends who will, and stay tuned as we post updates on our Facebook and Twitter pages.

If you’d like to join us for the march, you can find us with the Converge for System Change hub:

Pre-March Rally – Join us for an inspiring rally beginning at 10:30 am featuring speakers and musicians. The themes will be uniting our movements, calling out corporate corruption, and demanding real solutions. Speakers will be announced soon.

Converge for System Change – is the name of our hub. We will march together starting around 11:30 am as one of 7 recognized contingents in the People’s Climate March. Look for the big blue Popular Resistance banner. Bring a sign with your message or help carry the Popular Resistance banner. Other groups that are marching in this contingent are the Alliance for Democracy, Global Climate Convergence, Organic Consumers Association, Poor Peoples Economic and Human Rights Campaign, System Change Not Climate Change, Veterans for Peace and more.

Our rally and assembly will take place at the same location, but locations for the contingents have not yet been announced. It will be somewhere on Central Park West between 86th and 59th Sts, and we’ll update this page with information as soon as we can.

Here’s more information on the People’s Climate March itself:

Housing and Transportation – click here for the housing and travel message board, click here for information on affordable travel and places to stay and click here for information about buses organized by the Peoples’ Climate March.

Climate meetings will be held at the United Nations on Tuesday, September 23.

Thanks, Flush the TPP — we hope to see you there!
