Medford to Wyden: “Stop the TPP!”

Medford to Wyden:

By Allen Hallmark.

About two dozen folks turned out on a very cool morning in front of the Federal Courthouse in Medford to protest the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement, which was signed by trade reps of the 12 participating nations that hashed out the agreement to the tune of major corporate sponsors yesterday in New Zealand. But that doesn’t mean the agreement now goes into effect — far from it. If the U.S. Congress fails to ratify the agreement, it will probably fall apart. That’s why we went to the courthouse this morning to deliver a letter to Senator Ron Wyden’s staff detailing all the specific reasons why the TPP would be bad for the U.S., bad for the world. More than 1,500 organizations signed the letter opposing the TPP.
